ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The mission of the Alumni Association of Western New England College is to communicate with and bring value to the alumni body and to support actively and financially the goals of the College as detailed in its Mission Statement.

Mike Coffey G'79
President

The President must have served as Vice President for at least one term, in order to have knowledge of the mission and vision of the Association. As President, Mike provides leadership and guidance to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Alumni Association, in accordance with its constitution and bylaws. He is instrumental in developing long range plans for the Alumni Association that incorporate the College’s strategic plan. Additionally, Mike represents the Alumni Association in an official capacity at Commencement, Homecoming, the Senior Class Brunch, and other College events. He works closely with Kathy Pappas, the director of alumni relations.

The Vice President must have served as either Secretary, Member-at-Large, a Committee Chair of the Alumni Association, or as a Chapter Chair, in order to have an overview of the mission and vision of the Association and its goals. He assists the President in providing leadership for the Alumni Association.

Immediate Past President

Mat serves as a link to other Past Presidents. He also conducts an annual evaluation of the performance on Association leadership. He provides advice and counsel to current Board members, particularly the President. Additionally, the Immediate Past President undertakes any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by both the president of the Alumni Association and the director of Alumni Relations.

Two-Year Alumni Trustee

The Two-Year Alumni Trustee is an appointed position. Olalekan, better known as "Lincoln," serves as the liaison between the College's Board of Trustees and the Alumni Association. He provides a report on the business and activities of the Alumni Association to the Board of Trustees, and provides feedback and information from the Board of Trustees to the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

The One-Year Alumni Trustee is selected from the current graduating class. Brian serves as the liaison between the College and the Alumni Association.

Volunteer Management Committee Chair

B.S. Human Resource Management

The Volunteer Management Committee Chair is responsible for the recruitment, retention, recognition, and review of all internal affairs of the Alumni Association. Dale manages the following subcommittees: the Awards Team, the Constitution and Bylaws Team, and the Nominating Team.

Advancement Committee Chair

Grant leads the Advancement Committee in its efforts to reach campaign goals by assisting in the planning of alumni volunteer fundraising strategies and articulating the College’s advancement priorities to others. He also oversees the Alumni Phonathon and Stewardship Teams to enhance relations and raise necessary funds for the College.

Alumni Outreach Committee Chair

The Alumni Outreach Committee Chair helps coordinate the Alumni Association activities calendar and administers social events and programs sponsored by the Association. Ed is responsible for leading the Alumni Golf Tournament and Homecoming Teams.

The Secretary must have previously served on any one of the teams of the Alumni Association, as a Chapter Chair, or in any one of the program volunteer positions. Lilliam is responsible for preparing the Association Board of Directors and Cabinet meeting minutes and other associated program duties.

Members-at-Large

Our Members-at-Large serve as liaisons between a designated committee or team of the Alumni Association and the Association Board of Directors. Each Member-at-Large focuses on a year long project to help the Association advance its mission as stated in the strategic plan.
