Decker Wins Associated Press Award for Cambodia Report
Western New England College communication major Brittany Decker won first place honors for feature reporting in the Massachusetts/Rhode Island Associated Press radio and TV contest. Decker, a junior from Bristol, CT, was honored for a report she produced on a local charitable foundation's efforts to help the poor in Southeast Asia. (Read More)
Pre-pharmacy Program Welcomes First Class
Western New England College welcomed its first class in fall 2009. The two-year Pre-pharmacy program will lay the math and science foundation for students to take the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT), after which they may seek admission into a four-year professional program leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) and be qualified to work in any facet of this growing industry. Beginning in fall 2011, the majority of Pre-pharmacy classes will be held in Western New England College's new $40 million academic building, which will feature state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms. In 2011, Western New England College plans to enroll its first professional class within the School of Pharmacy . The addition of a fifth school dedicated to pharmacy marks the beginning of a new era for the institution. (Read More)
